Friend and I are in early access and we are REALLY enjoying it.  A lil different game than we are used to.  No levels, no crafting or housing, and it's an action combat kinda game.  Think Tera or NW.  You only get one toon and it can play all the classes. (eventually at least)

Anywho.......open beta starts Thursday.  And it is a FTP.

Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fast paced, lobby style MMO, that is just a lil different.

We need one more to start a Pantheon. (guild)

I haven't been gaming much this year but my husband and I did try this out last night. AWESOME game...totally different concept and game play. We might buy into this one.

See.....I KNEW we were wearing that same pair of glasses!

Game is definitely NOT the same old, same old.

Now, know going in, (if your even thinking on it) the combat is quite different than anything we normally play.

Think Tera and Neverwinter.  And, you really have to stay awake in EVERY fight and THINK a bit. (not my strong suit!)  Much more fun with a group than solo.  I die about 100 times an hour.  Minimum....Good news....No death penalty whatsoever!

And, no levels as we know them at least.  Your measure of "level" is a stat called prestige.  And you can raise that in a few ways.   No real gear grinds either.  Your gear kinda levels as you do.

And the game REALLY promotes a guild.......You two join one as yet Dax?  Hint hint.  Perhaps we need to petition Myst for a RoH chapter??

The basic premise is that you are trying to become a God....as such you need to recruit Adepts and followers.  And to build the guild you need lottsa mats.  Like in LOTTSA.  Compare it to garrisons in Wow.  You recruit followers that go out and do missions for you.  and bring back STUFF.....All kindsa stuff.....Game has like 21 kinds of currency.........

No housing.....no crafting.  You just hunt and it all flows from there.

Classes are VERY well done, and, again......not our normal.  You only get one toon per account and and, EVENTUALLY that one toon can play all the classes.  Emphasis on EVENTUALLY.  You get 3 to start and can unlock more as you go.  And you actually must learn to play the classes.  You'll need to use a shit ton of different combos.....RMB, LMB and the keyboard.

No HEALERS in game.  WHAT?  Yep.....No healers.  Damage, Tank or Support.

Two skill trees.  One class based and the second more account based.  And, at start, you CAN play all 3 starting classes.  Pally, Lightbringer and Cryomancer.

You guessed it!  Damage, Tank or support.  And you can play any of the at start.  And change out from fight to fight if ya want. Think Rift souls.  Except no souls per se, but thats how you change.  And, the classes do kinda sorta level independently.  Except for stats that are shared.

Game is easy to play (and DIE) but as you learn more, you'll see it's deliciously complex.

And were only in open Beta.

Did I mention it's a FTP???  At least it CAN be, but I do not see any real game breakers so far in the cash shop.

What classes you two playing Dax?  Ima curious.

YES ! Yes to everything you posted ! I have been a little jaded with all of the MMO's we have out there. same ole same ole. This one is wonderfully different and it has my attention for sure.

I'm playing a Lightbinder and my husband is a Cryomancer. We're really loving it !

My husband plays more than I will...I'm dividing my time between several different things right now but will be in as often as I can. If you decide to build a guild we're on board. :)

Now that's wonderful news!  I been playing with a buddy, so we could have 4 now.......sure would help on the clan!  So much to do and all those buildings to get and followers to recruit.

Where you two at real world and when are you normally in game?

Do you use Team speak at all? Lot easier.

Perhaps your wonderfully enthusiastic post will stir some further interest.

I know there's a few more of us interested in something new and a little different.

Word of caution one more time......Game is NOT your usual tab target and watch the mobs die.  You really have to play the toon.  Moving around as you fight is a MUST.

Hi Leah!

Yes.....you surely do get to pick.

And, remember......you only get ONE toon in this game.

No alts.

But that one toon can play 3 classes to start and eventually all of em.

There's actually a class called a witch!  I want to try that one for sure.

And, as you are leveling, you may freely change to any of the classes you have unlocked.

And also remember you have two skill trees to work.

So.......if you start as one class and want to try a second 2 hours later.......the second class WILL be a little better than brand new if you placed any points in the account tree.

Class tree is class specific.....Account tree is for all your classes.  Nice system.

Also.....very significant and shame on me for not stating this earlier.......you do NOT change gear when you change classes.  All classes share the same stats and gear.  Except for weapons.  So if you equip a ring on a toon that has played a bit......then change to a class that is brand new to you.....The ring remains!

Do I detect a tad of interest here??

I should also note the graphics are quite comparable to Archeage.  Not spectacular......but quite nice!

re: Skyforge class info

Interesting or what??

Immortals, today we are excited to lift the veil and reveal all the classes you’ll be able to work towards unlocking and playing in Skyforge! Whether you’re the type of player who rushes recklessly into battle, deals damage from a safe distance or prefers to aid their allies in the frenzy of battle; there is a class for your play style.

Variety is the spice of life, and each of Skyforge’s classes have been designed to provide players with a unique style, appearance, abilities and talents in order to appeal to a wide range of preferred playstyles. At launch Skyforge will offer players a total of 13 classes to progress through and with the ability to switch classes, anytime outside of combat, you will have the opportunity to try all of them! Of course, choosing which classes you focus on progressing first can be a daunting task, so to help you decide we’re provided you with a full list of all the classes below, with a short overview on each one.

Pally-Cryo

Cryomancer
Role: Damage

Cryomancers utilize their advanced cryogenerators to compress and freeze the air around them, turning it into powerful beams of ice. Keeping a safe distance in a fight, they are capable of slowing down or immobilizing their opponents by freezing them solid. Those who manage to sneak up on the Cryomancer shall be welcomed by the cold surface of their protective Crystal Shield.

Paladin
Role: Tank

Paladins are fearless tank with a wide range of offensive and defensive skills. They are found in the heart of battle, crushing their foes and protecting their allies. Fierce fighters up close, they can use their Holy Powers to protect their allies and engage enemies at great ranges.

Lightbinder-Archer

Lightbinder
Role: Support

The Merciful Lightbinder is always willing to help those in need. They consider life to be of the greatest value. Harnessing the Power of Light, Lightbinders can shield their allies from enemy attacks, but their kindness is not without its limits. When they direct their anger at enemies, they can inflict great damage while maintaining a safe distance.

Archer
Role: Damage

These expert marksmen are capable of hitting targets from great distances. In addition to common projectiles, they carry special gadgets including slowing traps as well as an assortment of electrical and fire arrows. Skilled fighters with lightning reflexes and cat-like agility, Archers can overwhelm their enemy with a storm of arrows and easily get away, evading the blows of anyone who manages to get too close.

Gunner-Witch

Gunner
Role: Damage

The Gunner trusts only one ally – their powerful and multi-purpose transforming cannon. As a long-ranged weapon’s expert, Gunner’s tirelessly study and improve their weaponry, optimizing it for raining down destruction on both living and nonliving matter. Remorseless, they have no qualms about putting their destructive technology to use and blanket the battlefields with bullets, super-heated plasma and explosive rockets.

Warlock/Witch
Role: Damage

Witches and Warlocks have an arsenal of dark sorcery at their disposal: terrible curses, frightening creatures, mysterious potions and, of course, their trusty broom, which acts as both a powerful weapon and a means of transportation. They are highly unpredictable, but you can be sure of one thing: these dark sorcerers will always act in their own interest.

Berserker-Kinetic

Berserker
Role: Damage

These ruthless savages never go a day without a good fight. They know no fear, only rage. Seized by insane fury, the Berserkers can easily sweep aside hordes of enemies in their path. When enraged, they feel no pain, and their wounds heal on their own. The battle cry of the Berserker can strike terror into the hearts of enemies and inspire allies.

Kinetic
Role: Damage

The Kinetics are able to harness a special kind of energy, which they use to cause chaos among enemy ranks. Their gauntlets allow them to easily rip massive rocks out of the ground and send them hurtling towards their opponents. They can also control their enemies' movement on the battlefield by altering the gravitational fields around them. Additionally, Kinetics can protect their allies by surrounding them with energy fields.

Necro-Slayer

Necromancer
Role: Damage

Necromancers are powerful sorcerers who control death itself. With their dreadful spells, they can both inflict significant damage to enemies and syphon their life force to restore their own health, but mostly, they use their powers to force horrifying undead creatures to fight for them. With the power to turn into a Lich, they gain access to special abilities not available in human form.

Slayer
Role: Damage

These insidious killers seemingly appear out of thin air and disappear just as quickly, leaving a trail of bodies in their wake. Capable of melding with the shadows, they’re able to slip by unsuspecting enemies and leave them with a sense of impending death. Their primary weapons are a pair of razor-sharp swords, but they've got plenty of other cards up their sleeves that can assist them in killing opponents or retreating if a fight gets too intense.

Monk-Alchemist

Monk
Role: Damage

Monks are of a martial order, having mastered the discipline of body and mind. Their skill with a staff is honed to perfection, and their fighting style incorporates special stances coupled with a series of powerful attacks. Wielding their staff, monks can spin it to inflict damage to all enemies around them and perform dizzying acrobatic stunts.

Alchemist
Role: Support

The line between genius and insanity a thin one – many wonder which side the Alchemists falls on. These half-mad scientists have devoted their lives to alchemy, resulting in an arsenal which includes both corrosive chemical compounds and invigorating elixirs. On their backs they carry a portable alchemy laboratory equipped with manipulators that can spray acid and fire at the enemies, as well as inflict significant damage with its bladed claws.

Knight

Knight
Role: Tank

The mighty Knights are always in the thick of battle, aided by a falcon, summoned to attack enemies at their command. The Knight is capable of withstanding the onslaught of numerous enemies, diverting their attention from less protected allies. Armed with shield and spear, they are able to not only block incoming attacks, but to also deliver crushing blows in return.

Remember that these are the first thirteen classes that will be available when Skyforge launches with more coming post launch. With so many to choose from – which one will you focus on first to defend Aelion?

I had team speak but I think I ditched it a while back, probably pretty easy to reload.

I loaded the game last night and played thru the little intro where you save the village and get ambushed and massacered afterwards. Once I got into the city though things fell apart. I got to the holographic room where the guy tells you to pick your class but nothing happened when I tried to pick one. Eventually, I will figure it out. I also didn't get any customizable character screen either. Knowing me I did something wrong along the way, but I will try to hook up with you guys looks like an interesting diversion if nothing else.

Then......Your done and go into your class/gender selection and customization.

And then it begins!

Don't feel bad......I screwed EVERYTHING up so bad I started a new account today.........
