3 BBQ sauce recipes depending on your taste. There's 2 ketchup versions:

Version 1:

1c molasses
1c Ketchup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 8oz. Can of tomato paste
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp black pepper
2 tbsp liquid smoke

Version 2:

1/4c Apple Cider Vinegar
1/3c Molasses
1c Ketchup
1 tbsp Mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce (optional)
1 8 0z. can of tomato paste
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
(I prefer fresh garlic and onions.... you can use crushed garlic and for the onions, you can slice them, cook, then sieve/ colander out the onions after the sauce cooks).
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt

spicy?
1 tsp cayenne pepper
or
mince up some Habanero or Jalapeno peppers

Sweet?
Add Honey... amount depends on your preference, my wife likes her sauce sweet

Cooking time: If using fresh garlic and onion, allow them to cook in 2 tbsp oil (I prefer olive, but whatever makes you happy) for 5 minutes on med. heat, then add the liquid ingredients and then the rest, turned down to simmer for another 20min or so, partially covered. For best flavor, allow it to sit overnight for a better flavor.

Carolina/ Mustard based version:

1c yellow mustard
1/2c sugar
1/4c brown sugar
3/4c cider vinegar
1/4c water
2 tbsp chili powder
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp soy sauce
2 tbsp butter
1 tbsp liquid smoke

Mix all except soy, butter and smoke. Simmer 30 minutes. Stir in remaining ingredients and simmer for 10 more minutes.

Add some Habanero or Jalapeno peppers if you prefer spicy.

This sauce is best used for pork. Chicken is also a good option.
