News Flash - Daybreak Games is at it again.

The Lord of the Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online have been acquired by Standing Stone Games, a newly-formed independent game studio made up of the same groups that have been working on LOTRO and DDO for years. We remain committed to both games, and are thrilled to be able to take these games in exciting directions for a long time to come. Standing Stone Games will operate as an independent studio, with global publishing support from Daybreak Games.

Not sure what role they will play in this venture.

I read that last night on Massively.  That was a big surprise.  Turbine was moving to only phone games so maybe the new independent company will put out some new MMO's in the future and pump out some great expansions for LotRO and DDO.  As long as Daybreak is just hosting and doesn't have their marketing department involved driving the crucial decisions like they did for their own games, maybe it will work out.
