I'm reading on certain forums that the only way to change your appearance is from the cash shop and that any of the armor items that you pick up while playing won't change your appearance. Is this true?

There are outfit item slots on your character sheet.  I have not tried any on to see if that changes the look.  There are dyes in the game too.  I haven't played with that yet either.  And, I'm not sure if you can craft your own clothes as costume items.

I know that really hasn't helped any :(
